I too rarely charge on mains electricity, so whilst it’s best-practice to do so (as per manual) it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get chance or forget.

There are also many many variables around usage & frequency, and we’re all different.

To me batteries are inevitably a consumable item, albeit over a multi-year term.
