Lower bed condensation next to wardrobe

looking forward to our new Cali, but misses just reminded me about the duvet getting quite wet on the wardrobe site on the Cali we hired last year.

Anyone else had this? I assume it is moisture condensing on the colder metal surface of the wardrobe.

Where exact was it ? Witch wardrobe....

Ventilation is very important when coocking/sleeping,....in such a small space.

no never an issue

It seemed to be in a strip inline with the side of the mattress. Think the problem is the cold from outside is conducted straight through the body onto the wardrobe. Where the mattress meets the wardrobe there is no airflow and the condensation forms. Our duvet got pretty wet a couple of times.

I first thought you meant when you put your sleeping stuff "in" the wardrobe. We have been away in all weathers and although the metal of the wardrobe can feel really cold to touch if the cover comes off have never had a damp issue.

I was also assuming somewhere in the wardrobe.
On the outside of the wardrobe against the mattras there should be no condens as both sides are in the verhicle.
Are you sure it was condence?

Well my misses sleeps on that side so not guilty. Seem to remember it was in a line around the same height as the safe and I had wondered if the safe was conducting heat away from that area to the outside of the van causing the condensation.

The wardrobe and the safe bolt to the metal body of the van from memory so are likely to be colder than if they were just free standing in the van

Never had that problem despite using the California all year round , and I've got the safe fitted.
With poor ventilation you'll get condensation on the coldest areas, mainly on the windows. Have never heard of it on the area you mentioned. I'm more inclined to think it is water tracking from a leak, possibly sliding window.
Was it raining at all during the period of hire?

Think there was a bit of rain. The other thing I thought it could have been wet/damp clothes stored under the bed or maybe the water tank leaking. I'll see how I get on in the new van when it arrives.

Watertank leaking is out of the question , water does not run upwarts....
Sliding window leaking also out of the question as it would never reach to there.

Don't worry about it , it was probally a one of a kind thing as you say wet clotes or so...

I have seen water leak from the sliding window onto the cooker/sink surround. Window appeared closed but wasn't quit closed.

We had a small leak in our T4 that dripped onto your head in the night (but not enough to bother). If the van was on a slight angle then it could easily have run across the overhead locker and down the side of the wardrobe. I sort of remember there being damp on that side once or twice, but it could be my memory failing me... :(

Despite have a very good look around we never managed to find the source of the leak, but any irritation caused was easily counteracted by applying more wine to the situation!

I also sleep on the drivers side of the lower bed.

However, I swapped with my wife last year and was surprised at how cold the wardrobe is to lie against.
And I though she was just being friendly...!

So it may be possible that a small line of condensation is forming along the edge of the mattress from a hot body.

Another thought, was the tailgate fully closed? That could let in cold air to the luggage compartment below the bed if it was slightly ajar. Except you would both notice that ,I suspect, so maybe not the problem.
