Do we know for sure that Ford/VW are using wet belt engines in the collab? I can’t find any definitive confirmation that they are.

That’s a good question. I haven’t looked in depth at this as I have no plans to (ever) buy a Ford, but it is mainly the engines labelled EcoBlue that are wet belt. There may be others though.
I plan to be running a T6 or upgrade to a T6.1 for as long as I possibly can!

Me too! I do have an itch to do a self build one day and the new Transporter (I actually prefer the look of the Transit) looks like a potentially great base vehicle, similar footprint to the T6 but with some useful extra space inside. I wouldn’t touch one if they are wet belt though.

A longish Terranger video (all in German) but my main take out is the new Ford looks like it will make a good base vehicle for a Swamper build. An off road mode in AWD and torque converter auto box are advantages over the T6.1 4motion.

Providing of course they have sorted the engines!

I didnt understand what they were saying, but the video seemed to be about a bunch of middle aged men with overly-pimped swampers going up some dusty mountain tracks.

I laughed when they had the bonnet up on the Ford, but of course later on they had to tow the VW up the mountain!!!

It seems the Ford performed well and better than the T6.1, mainly because of the torque converter auto box vs the DSG. It has no diff lock though as far as I can tell. The issue they had with the Ford was the air suspension completely deflated. It was a loose airline which they quickly fixed. It seems VRB have a compatible suspension for the Transit already so I’m guessing there will a version for the VW variant. The moral seems to be don’t let Terranger fit it

235/65r17 KO2’s ran for 6k miles. No issues.
No tPMS , but tpms, only shows pressure inside the tyre.
If it was going to affect anything it would be ABS for the axle turning.
But they still turn nicely on the French autobahn !!

I have these from an old raised T6.
Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus 235/65 R17 108H XL (GAN)
Modular Steel Wheel 17" x 8" ET40 Black Load rating 1200Kg PCD 5/120mm..

Will they fit stock Cali 4M diff T6.1 2023?
And if so I guess snowchains won't fit?
