Midges in Scotland

Park at the back away from water, and keep door shut!
Saying that I’ve stayed there years ago in September and no midges (very windy though).
and trees and dense vegetation, and in clear space for max wind, wind to the door not shelter.
Had a horrible experience of gale force wind and rain on one side and midge death in the shelter.
Wind and rain wins every time for me !

As the midges can climb through the mesh in the pop top, I normally keep them zipped up but in the recent heat had to have some air flow so I hung my zapper above me.

These are good, we have one but ideally a smaller grid would help, they seem to get in and crawl around not die. Still better than crawling on us !
