Motor Tax Question

Hi all, we finally received our Cali and my husband taxed it the other day. It seems to have gone through as a Private Car with a whopping fee. The road tax indicated when we were purchasing it was €102 / annum. Can anyone out there please let me know what rate it should be? What are people paying? I wonder has the Dealer registered it as a Private Vehicle and not a Camper! Many thanks in advance, Mary

If it’s a Beach Tourer with two sliding doors in the UK that is not classified as a camper…

The OP is in Ireland, not the UK & Northern Ireland, so different rates apply.

You need to fill out a Motor Caravan Declaration form the first time you tax it in Ireland. This will reduce annual road tax rate to €102 every year

Many thanks all. I paid a visit to the Motor Tax office in Friday last and got it sorted Tax now down from €710 to €102 I just love a positive outcome

Yep, same happened myself at first. Just went to tax office with the letter from the main dealer to say it was a camper and they changed it for me...Back to €102.00...phew.
