Dear Cali Crew,

I've just had a slightly stressful conversation with Admiral Insurance about NCB.. when looking at adding a car onto my insurance for a week (to get it MoTd, they appeared to uncover the fact that I had insurance NCB spread across two vehicles, my daily Passat (100 motorway miles a day) and our Cali..

So now I'm advised that after having this set like this for many many years now, that I'm going to have to sacrifice one NCB. This is how they set it up, saying at the time, that I could drive more than one vehicle at a time!

We have multi car and house with them too. Not massively happy, I've taken time out to decide what I want to do, which car should have the NCB etc.

I want to ask here - has anyone else got NCD spread across two vehicles, is this normal?

Also, they refer to the Cali as a Transporter.. should I discuss this too..!? Oh blimey.

Thanks

Not normal. NCB is transferable but only one car at a time You can have multiple NCBs but they act independently. I’ve never heard of splitting NCB across two cars tbh.

I don’t understand why NCB is vehicle specific, it didn’t earn it, I did. Bonkers system. Anyway, Comfort insurance mirror your NCB, you don’t have to transfer it from one to another.

I have Admiral Multicar insurance too with 4 vehicles. Each vehicle has its own NCB. When I started transferring policy’s across from different companies they used the NCD earned from them. When I go into my online account I can choose a vehicle insured and it tells you what NCD is for that policy.
