I guess most of us are familiar with the fact that a no Claims Bonus / Discount can only be used on one vehicle, and that Motorhome 'no claims' is a bit different to normal no claims... but today I hit a new problem....
My 9 years NCB was built initially on cars, but for the last 3 years was used against my Cali as it was my only vehicle.
I've now sold my Cali, and have got my proof of no claims from my previous insurer (Adrian Flux) which shows it as "Motorhome NCB entitlement "
I've tried to apply it against my car policy and they won't accept it, treating it as if it's some form of 'shadow' no claims that are often given on motorhome policies (that earn you some discount without actually offering up your NCD).
Has anyone had a similar issue and managed to resolve it?
It seems that actually having 9 years NCD doesn't actually offer you the savings a thought it did! I thought it would halve the price vs entering zero NCD, but it's actually only about 15%.
Even so, I don't relish starting from scratch again, just because a couple of years of it was earned on a Cali.
