Hi all,

Our Cali is in for a regular interval service at VW today.
I thought the Cali was sitting down at the back and we asked them to check.
The garage confirmed this by 1.4cm and are changing the shocks after talking to VW.

Firstly has anyone experienced this failure at this age/mileage and secondly should this be covered Under the warranty (my Wife took the garages call and didn't ask).

Our Cali is a 61 reg and has covered only 10k miles.

Cheers
Mark

This sounds more like a broken coil spring. Broken shocks would not cause it to sit lower unless the shock shaft was binding with the bushings that guide it. I'm no expert though. ;)

That's the way I'd see it too - shocks just damp the movement, it's the spring that sets the height.

'course - we could both be wrong
