What date in June was your order, what extras did you have?June 21 Order Update: Ocean 150
Now Built & at been at German port waiting to be shipped since Monday.
Anyone else’s Cali waiting to be shipped?
Speak of the devil... Just an hour after I posted this message, look at what landed in my inbox:Ours (Ocean ordered in Ireland in April 2021) has been built and waiting for a boat at Emden since the 6 May. Have contacted the dealer a couple of times since then but he has no information on when a boat might come.
Ever so slightly frustrating as I would have thought that boat schedules and capacity would be pretty fixed and that it would therefore be possible to know when the vehicle would make it over the pond once it's built and waiting at the port. I probably have a very simplistic view of transport logistics.
Just got confirmation that your vehicle left the port yesterday, and the vessel is due to arrive into Ireland on the 30/5.
Once it lands into the country I will let you know straight away.
June 7th I ordered it but I not sure when the dealer put it on the system but around the start of June. What date in June was your order, what extras did you have?
Update from our dealer last night - we are still at Status 00 (Oct 21 order), but our model year has definitely moved to MY23 - so build will be after Week 25. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything more on the MY23 updates - nothing more has been updated on the Caliboard.de since that first info?So you'll get MY23 then? Supposed to start from week 25 onwards right?
According to Caliboard.de in MY23 the fabric of the roof tent will change. Not sure how reliable this source is however![]()

You know, around 6 months ago it was touted that “tow bar issues”, and “complex automation options”, would delay delivery. The feedback from this forum was that it made no noticeable difference whether options were cancelled or not. You’re going to live with your van for a long time, so if I were waiting for my van right now, I’d stick it out with the options I have chosen. Our dealer called to confirm our August 2021 order has been impacted by the side assist issue. If we choose to remove side assist, it’s likely the van would be delivered early in Q3 (July?), but if we keep side assist it’s likely to be much later in Q3, possibly early Q4. That said, he has other orders that opted to keep side assist, and they have then been given much earlier build dates (next month).
We’ll keep the side assist option and keep our fingers crossed our order number gets selected early in the VW build week lottery. Our original order form estimated a June delivery, but we’d always assumed it would more likely be September, so in reality we’re probably not going to be too far from that.
I’m guessing this means ours will be a MY23, so if anyone does see any information about changes that may bring, we’d be most grateful if you could share the details here please.
When we asked about price protection, our dealer said “we’ve got it until at least the end of the year”. On reflection, we’re not clear who “we” is, as in us specifically, them as a dealership, VW in general etc. We’ll ask for something in writing that will hopefully clarify this and give us some peace of mind while we wait.
Great to read people’s good news updates, can’t wait to see the photos of your shiny new vans soon.
I think the operative word there is "touted". With "tow bar gate" I'm not aware of anything officially coming from VW about delays other than some dealers reporting it as an issue and some not. In my case, when I added one and asked, my dealer said he wasn't aware of it being a problem. You know, around 6 months ago it was touted that “tow bar issues”, and “complex automation options”, would delay delivery. That is not correct. I and a number of others were contacted by VW and given the option to remove the towbar and advised of expected delivery times were that option to be taken, a few months less than if it were to be retained. I opted for it to be removed and the dealer agreed to have an after market one fitted by their local supplier.I think the operative word there is "touted". nice one, I was down at SMG this morning, I probably saw your Cali out front i guess. Matt let me take it for a spin to try it out.. only joking. Based on your timing I have 3 months to go (also 4motion). Nice colour. By the way, if you want to see Matt on youtube being interviewed, he has promised it when we get to 500 subscribers and he is now regretting it... subscribe if you want to see matt being grilled. Great guy by the way, highly recommended if you are looking for a van. Finally! After waiting for 11 months, my new Cali (204ps, 4M, ordered on June 2021) has been collected from SMG Tonbridge today. I’m so lucky and happy to see many new Calis on the way! Many thanks to Matt and his colleagues for the best service I have had in the past time.

Agree. My dealer contacted me and said that our chosen options may cause added delays, but to be fair, they didn’t really push this. At the time, I was observing non-sensical variations in the delivery and delays in vans - via this forum. The dealer commented that they were being taken by surprise with deliveries happening out of the blue, and scheduled deliveries not happening for weeks/ months. From what I can see, nothing has changed. Another month, another reason for delay. That is not correct. I and a number of others were contacted by VW and given the option to remove the towbar and advised of expected delivery times were that option to be taken, a few months less than if it were to be retained. I opted for it to be removed and the dealer agreed to have an after market one fitted by their local supplier.
The irony is that when the dealer went back in to VW to communicate that, the day after they had recieved the communication from VW, they were told that my van had been allocated a build week and it could no longer be changed. Much to their surprise and embarrassment. The van was then delivered last July, within the timeline advised if I had opted to remove the towbar, with the factory fit towbar in place.
Make of that what you will; I thought it was farcical but an accurate reflection on VW at the time. Here’s hoping they have improved…..
Love it.....Great dealer - kept us updated all week since van arrived from port, even sent us a video of the van with our personalised plate today. We can’t collect until next Tuesday, due to work etc. Very excited

I'd not heard that before, although you're talking about a van delivered nearly 12 months ago and the original post was referring to discussions 6 months ago which I was following as I wanted to add a tow bar around then (and did). That is not correct. Probably the same one, just dragged on for months like Boris's partygateAh, must be a different ‘tow bar gate’ then……![]()
Congrats it looks great. Spotted it in the valet queue on a video of my own van which I am collecting tomorrow morning! After a long wait ordered Mid June 2021 we finally picked up Grey Jay from Frank Keane Liffey valley Dublin. Have to say we where totally looked after by Darryl from start to finish. We went to glendalough for a quick stop off on the way home to Wexford, the freedom is amazing. Let the journeys begin.
For all you guys waiting keep in there it's well worth the wait.View attachment 93580View attachment 93581View attachment 93582
