I did promise some pics at some point, the colour (Starlight) is difficult to capture, it can look green-ish in certain light. Anyway, over the moon and waiting for the first night in it (maybe tomorrow, and a quick weekend away). I'll leave these here while it's box-fresh! Thinking of Lexy for the name ;)
I love it - the colour is stunning. Wishing you many kms of safe travels in her.

Anyone here opted for the side assist delete yet? If so did you get revised order paperwork?
Also very interested in this, as I think we’re probably going to be asked about the side assist shortly. We will be very reluctant to sign any new paperwork unless it very clearly states that we will still pay the original price less the £250.

Without a clear idea of the possible impact on price increases I don't understand how VW can expect you to decide whether to remove side assist. It may be that including side assist ends up pushing you past the mythical registration cut-off date and in turn thousands of pounds. By the way - we have never had any formal notification that we may be subject to a price increase.

Same for us, our dealer has never mentioned it and when we have asked him, he’s never been able to give us any useful information.

Unlike some others on this thread, our paperwork does not mention anything anywhere that the price could change and we would have to pay a different price. I’d like to see paperwork that newer clients are signing with our dealer as I’m sure there would be a caveat included now.

I don’t have anything stating this and haven’t actually signed anything. Assume this is because I placed my order over the phone and then received an email with a one page attachment stating the spec, cost etc.

Hi everyone,
We also took the plunge and ordered a new 6.1 ocean in September 2021, to the present day we have not heard anything from the dealer since putting our order in, we have had no emails, Contacts or information including updates on our order whatsoever. We were given a preliminary delivery date of August 2022 and are hoping its coming pretty close to that date, but judging from the forum it could be longer that the estimated date given. I am a bit bemused our dealer cannot contact us at least once a month to give you some update or information, even if there is no information to give you an email would be nice just to let you know you're still in the system and waiting.
That being said we are still excited and can't wait for our deliver, and our adventures to start.

Our dealer never pro-actively contacted us except for the one time shortly after our order when VW announced there would be a two month delay to the delivery and he wanted to know if we still wanted to keep the order.

But he was always prompt to reply when we emailed him. We emailed once a month and got a monthly update.

Same story for me too (and most others I think, based on a lot of comments that I remember reading)

I ordered an Ocean 204, with quite a few extras at the end of October 2021 from Eurovans, Crawley. They have advised that it is currently showing a scheduled build week of week 37 (12th Sept.) so they are happy it is still on track to be with me within 12 months.
Nice to see October orders getting mentioned on here now. We are exactly the same as you, 204 ordered from Crawley end of October 21. Not had any updates from Ben at Crawley so I may drop him an email. I don’t normally bother as I’m resigned to the 12 month wait to be fair.

I ordered in late October too and have occasionally contacted my dealer (Citygate Colindale) who has almost always picked up the phone and read off his system the latest updates. I spoke to him 10 days ago and he confirmed that my Ocean 204 was now confirmed build week 23. If all goes to plan, I could get the van in mid/late July. Time to make that call!

Similar for me - ordered June 2021, initial confirmation email from VW and nothing (unprompted) after that bar the standard "sorry for the delays" email and letter sent to everyone a few months ago.

In January I started contacting the dealer by email about once a month and always got a prompt reply back so probably worth you doing the same.

Unfortunately they haven't had much info to give, and what they have had has been unreliable with lots of Chinese whispers, but that does seem to be settling down to something more normal and predictable now.

I think the dealers are in a difficult position what with changing information, status changes from one day to the next and so on. I'm sure there is an underlying issue with Van centres dealing with sales of vehicles where the customers have very different expectations compared to buyers of commercial vehicles. For many buyers, the purchase of a new Cali is likely to be a huge financial commitment and a life changing purchase in some cases. I doubt VW will change their approach whilst Calis are still in demand though.

Will just have to sit tight. Having sold our current van a couple of weeks ago it does amp up the desire to get the new one.

Ours (Ocean ordered in Ireland in April 2021) has been built and waiting for a boat at Emden since the 6 May. Have contacted the dealer a couple of times since then but he has no information on when a boat might come.

Ever so slightly frustrating as I would have thought that boat schedules and capacity would be pretty fixed and that it would therefore be possible to know when the vehicle would make it over the pond once it's built and waiting at the port. I probably have a very simplistic view of transport logistics.

Speak of the devil... Just an hour after I posted this message, look at what landed in my inbox:

Just got confirmation that your vehicle left the port yesterday, and the vessel is due to arrive into Ireland on the 30/5.

Once it lands into the country I will let you know straight away.
