When away for two week break and left our friends New WV golf in the car park , the driver left his dash cam on , on our return guess what flat battery called our RAC got jump start and drove off came up to a set of lights guess what the engine stopped !!!!! and would not start , we said to same RAC guy who came out again saying we had run the car for 30mins and had cut out via stop start , after restarting again and showing us how to turn OFF the stop start
Interesting thing he said was VW cars don't charge after starting after jump start but only charge a little to keep the engine running , he showed us with a clamp meter was only charging 3 amps and said you will need to drive 50miles to recharge the battery once fully warmed up , I can see why gives more MPG and less power loss on the engine it seems the days of a jump start and drive 10 miles charge you battery are no more
This will relate to our leisure batterys when doing short journey's
