No Spare Wheel on Berghaus

My California is not a Berghaus but came from the factory with 18" alloys so there was no spare wheel. I ordered the parts listed on this forum and finally got round to fitting it yesterday. It was a straightforward job, but I'm not sure about the pin. I've threaded it through the bracket to the mounting and bent one end of the pin with some pliers to prevent it coming out, but it seems a bit unsafe to me. The two bolts nearest the bumper are secured but my concern is that if the pin were to somehow fall out, or snap, the bracket could fall down at this end and the wheel will come out. Have I done this right? Hope this makes sense.wheel_pin.jpg

Hi .....yes you seem to have done it right ,but you have to bend the end of the pin showing ,so the pin doesn't fall out or work it's way out ... :thumb

Thanks Choplee,I'll give the pin another twist and hopefully that should do it.

i bent mine over 90* after checking on a cali in the vw dealership :thumb
