Can anyone help explain why when I put in a postcode it says off-road and not he destination until I click on off road then it takes me to the correct destination so am I doing something wrong. ? Any help would be appreciated

It's normally an unregistered road ie: not classified M,A,B etc: so the satnav has no information regarding type or speed limits.

It’s telling you that your starting point is too far off a mapped road to calculate a route. Clicking off road simply does a direct line from where It thinks you are to the nearest road then routes you as normal. If it happens a lot, I’d say you have a gps positioning problem like a faulty antenna.
