If it is anything like my Passat digi dash - I have one on the rev and one on the speedo - one is fuel tank level, the other is instant fuel consumption - so if it move when your accelerate/decelerate, probably the fuel consumption.I cant find anything in my ocean manual to explain the rev counter inner blue circle moves and has white pointer arrow on it , can anyone help or explain what it is and does i have had the van 4 months and only just noticed it moves !
that makes total sense now thank you so muchIf it is anything like my Passat digi dash - I have one on the rev and one on the speedo - one is fuel tank level, the other is instant fuel consumption - so if it move when your accelerate/decelerate, probably the fuel consumption.
whats more intriguing is there is not a jot of info about in anywhere in the manual or online its driving me nuts as its not what has been mentioned above as i noticed it doesnt go in the direction it should for better consumption it is oddNever noticed it - I'm intrigued.
So as you accelerate the white arrow moves clockwise?whats more intriguing is there is not a jot of info about in anywhere in the manual or online its driving me nuts as its not what has been mentioned above as i noticed it doesnt go in the direction it should for better consumption it is odd
On my Passat the bar moves clockwise on light throttle - i.e. shows better mpg and anti-clockwise as you apply the throttle - showing less mpg. I'm assuming it should be much the same on the Cali dash. Unfortunately still waiting for ours to be delivered so can't confirm.whats more intriguing is there is not a jot of info about in anywhere in the manual or online its driving me nuts as its not what has been mentioned above as i noticed it doesnt go in the direction it should for better consumption it is odd
as ardm says its the bar moves clockwise on light throttle - i.e. shows better mpg and anti-clockwise as you apply the throttleSo as you accelerate the white arrow moves clockwise?
Likely to be that then.as ardm says its the bar moves clockwise on light throttle - i.e. shows better mpg and anti-clockwise as you apply the throttle
My 1966 MGB had a vacuum gauge calibrated red, amber and green to indicate fuel consumption. It was accurate enough to indicate what a heavy right foot was doing to the fuel consumption.I have wondered how to get real time MPG, so this is good news
YesThis is only on the digital dash I take it?
No, it’s a gimmick with no real advantage other than to make you feel good about yourself. Wait, that’s a bonus in itself!ah, never ordered that (not standard on ES spec Ocean), wish I had now. Probably would’ve paid for itself in fuel savings
brilliant thank you so much for explaining !The white arrow indicates your average mpg for the trip, the longer you drive for, the more stable it becomes…it’s quite a clever way to get you to drive more economically as the blue sweep circle moves instantaneous with your actual mpg. So if you accelerate hard, the n it will co all the way back to the beginning and your white average arrow will start
To creep down. So In a nutshell, if you can keep your blue line above your white arrow, your average mpg is improving…thats
How I get 40mpg on a motorway run..
yes sorryThis is only on the digital dash I take it?
