More details on rear storage setup. The boat siting right behind the bench.
One of the huge advantages of my diy flexiboard is carpeted surface allowing sliding the boxes without nasty scratching.
Drilled some holes in plastic storage boxes for connecting rubber bands and holding some other small essentials in a quick access.
Can't be happier after running my own sick 7awg cable from the leisure battery. Got reliable connections for fridges coockers etc without flimsy cig lighter sockets.
Added a hall sensor to monitor battery status more precisely. Surprised that alternator loads leisure battery with 50-70amps currents, making it almost ready 70-80% in half an hour.
We had some major changes in our setup, bench thrown away and new one built from scratch. I will be posting how it is made and works for now as we finally got to testing it.
Here is my small hack for an extra desk I need for longer laptop idle tasks like renders.
Just a 6mm plywood coated with a glue.
Installing own bench. It is designed to fit exacgly as original one but to hold x2 big euroboxes underneath.
My main goal was to design a way deeper sitting part and shorter back, to make it more for a lying position, since it isn't for driving passangers, but for a more comfortable resting area, where you can nap without unfolding.
Added a custom built long box, that goes near the 2-seat beach's storagebox.
We cut our old ikea mattress, we used to sleep on a floor. So now it is more comfortable and softer than original bench, and the hight profile is pretty thin living more practical space.Quick acces to the huge storage underneath. We can now arrange heaviest load under the bench instead of the rear.View from the back and my simple system to adjust the back incline.
We now have a full length cargo access as you can see under the flexiboard. So can transport like 10 pairs of skis if needed. Another nice find are the textile boxes from ikea to hold all our clothes. Can be used as part of the bed if needed.
