Can somebody quickly sum up what the difference is between the Parking Heater and the PH with Aux Heater? I'm thinking about buying a Beach and don't want to load it with anything that'll never be used!

Thanks.

There's quite a few threads on this. Key it into the search bar at the top of the page.

To save you some time, though, add the auxiliary heater that is standard in the Ocean. I've ordered it on mine and, while it is expensive, it is apparently hard to beat and will definitely be the first thing people ask about at sell time.

...and probaly the first thing you switch on arriving on site on a cold / rainy day;)

The key is needed to be in ignition an with ignition switched on.
Is this correct ? Says in manual can be used with ignition switched on or off .

So is it just the key that is needed in ignition for initial set up ?

Then take key out ignition once set up complete?

Or do most you leave the key in ignition all the time it's on .

Or does leaving key in ignition drain the battery

Parking diseal heater , if put on Ventilate only ? , we're does it blow from ? Says in manual front cab only and screen .
Does this ventilate cold only ? Or both hot or cold .
It's said used to defrost front windscreen ?
If so is it quick to defrost an how long does it take ?

So what is main difference between Auxillary night heater and ventilate ?

Bit confusing

Can you please stop spamming other's threads with this questions?
We tried to explain you multiple times in your own started thread.
If you still don't understand it, you will never.

I don't want to be rude, but please keep a bit on topic.
You don't help the OP with those questions.

Maybe he is trying to get an award for HTRB!

PS: Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!

I would advise reading the manual and watching Cali Chris’s videos on YouTube.

Refers to as coolant heater to clear windscreen frost , snow and ice

I think I can help your confusion.

The current Cali AFAIK has the auxiliary air heater only.

EDIT - Wrong, it has both.

You are reading the general Transporter manual, not the Cali supplement.

EDIT - True, but it is covering both.

On some Transporters (and maybe older Calis, IDK) you could specify both when ordering. The manual covers both bases as it’s for a general Transporter base.

EDIT - True, but for a Cali you have both.

As an option it’s not much use for a Cali if you were sleeping in all night as the vehicle will be warm. As a builder though, you need to get away asap on a winter morning, and so it’s a godsend.

EDIT - still true.

In general, the T6.1 based Cali, to my understanding, does not have both, just the aux air heater only.

EDIT - wrong, it has both.

See here for Transporter explanation.

I’m not even sure you could spec it. Wasn’t an option I recall. I could dig out my ordering manual to treble check.

EDIT - true, you don't spec it on an Ocean but an air heater I think was an option on lower specs. The Coolant heater is std. I guess it's a little like saying you have a fuel pump. It's just part of how the block works, likely for emission std as much as anything else.

I’m 100% sure you only have the std Cali heater.

I definitely have 2 heaters in my Cali (2024). Eberspacher for the parking heater and Webasto for the engine heater (which kicks in to help heat the engine when temps drop below 7 or 5 deg C). It is detailed on a sticker on the drivers side door pillar.

Gosh. Now I’m confused. I’ll check mine when light. From posts I’ve read here it’s something that exists when temps are less than 5 but you have no control. It’s just there and helps heat the engine faster. I think the other/older version of it you can control but not remotely and I saw talk of kits you could buy for a T5 to control remotely.

Edit. Ok, got it now. I’ll update the other thread rather than keep bumping this one.

I think a free full day course on all heating system should be provided by volkswagen to all new buyers .
Also they need to update the manual , with more information .
Never known system so convoluted .

Can we clarify .
Were in any volkswagen official paperwork / spec does it say Ventilate / coolant heater works below 5 degrees .

Secondly let's call it Ventilate / Coolant heater which is operated by top Main control panel or remote .
Does this Ventilate / Coolant heater run of diseal / leisure battery .
Or Not

So is this Ventilate / Coolant heater, heat controllable hot and cold .
Hence it will clear ice off screen quickly .

We presume under vehicle settings on lower radio control panel has be be TICKED IN BOX .Under supplementary heater .

This were gets confusing the supplementry heater is actually the VENTILLATE / COOLANT HEATER .

This thread relates to the parking heater. It has an inlet by the drivers step and two outlets on the B pillar. It can be operated either via the remote control or by the central overhead control panel. It really is quite simple to use. :thumb

Of course if talking about other methods of heating… that would be a thread hijack.
:offtopic

Oh dear me - when is this going to end. Of course I don’t need to read the thread, you may mention. But enough please

Ventilate is under same paragraph , in manual under Auxillary Heater
Ventilate is the flip side of heat immediately and is meant to reduce the hot air built up in a parked vehicle in summer. When this option is set via the CU you will be able to start the ventilator remotely via the key fob before you arrive at your vehicle. All you are really doing is starting the vehicle fan at high speed, therefore it's the starter battery that is providing the juice.

Well its winding me UP!
The two diesel heaters are like an A-level research project. They do require a sufficient IQ, and application to the study. New owners have access to this forum and YouTube (Californiatime, now Campervantime, in particular) and then self test. It took me a while to get it clear in my head, but both diesel heaters are all clear now and perfectly functional and user friendly.
