Hello,
The last time I visited Glendalough (Co. Wicklow) was in January of this year. I used the lower car park, which was free at the time.
Yesterday I went again and I couldn't believe it they charge now, for the lower and upper car park, EUR 15.00 for campers. It doesn't matter if you stay there 2x hours to go for a walk or overnight.
I spoke to the park attendant, pointing out that it was free in January. He said that during the buiser time they decided to charge for vehicles (for cars it is EUR 4.00).
I struggled a wee bit to accept this price and left again.
It is a pity that they charge so much. Glendalough is a wonderful place and can give a great inside of Irish history. But it seems that they won't any camper vehicles there at all. Why they only charte a few Euros for shorter stays, I don't know.
