Parking

I just completely avoid carparks..
Apart from in my Defender that’s fitted with rock sliders.
I squeezed it into the tightest spots it’s great!!!!
funny how when I come out there’s never a beaten up bag of junk parked 2 inches away from my Defender like there would be if I parked my California there... that spot you found there would be right up my street :) and as sandyvan says the long sideways spots are the best choice

I parked my van one time in Orange (France) on a parking spot around a height barriered parking. I put my van to the far end. No one could park in front of me, because it was the last spot, and there were about 15 places free behind me.
When I came back from visiting the Theatre Antique, there was someone who managed to park right behind me, instead of any of the 14 other free places. As I was parked quite close to the front angled curb (sidewalk), and that car was nearly up my towbar, I couldn't maneuver out of the spot. I just drove up the sidewalk (15 cm heigh, happy I didn't lower my van!) with my front right wheel to get out of the parking spot.
Now if I park sideways, I make sure I take up to 2 meters extra front or back to get back out when they park up my bumpers again.

I always go for the end or long ways spot but in this case like your style :thumb
We do the same normally if using a car park. This was a great spot for us as Cali was being left for a full day whilst we sailed over to Eigg, we couldn’t stop grinning all day! We are really particular about were we park it really bugs us how inconsiderate so many people are when parking.

When entering a carpark, we look for the best spot sometimes even moving what ever we are in more than once, if we have not seen the best for us spot first time.
If someone has taken an end spot and parked like a *uckwit my other half who is as OCD as me will say well they wasted that spot. if for any reason we go to the supermarket in the bus one of us will stay with it while the other goes in, because people cant be trusted.
We were on our way to the ferry in Dover and stopped at the Supermarket for our fresh stuff and I stayed with the bus well away from everyone, a mother and daughter (I assume) came out and started loading enough supplies to keep 2 Para going to invade a medium size country into their nice BMW, paying no attention to the now empty trolley gaining speed on the slight slope, it bounced off a new Toyota GT86. The daughter collected the trolley (well it had a pound in it) looked at the damage returned the trolley got in the BMW and drove away.
I waited until the owner showed up and gave him the reg number of the beamer and my phone number but never heard from anyone.
