Pop up roof not opening 2024 Cali

We are at Listers Coventry, they did not supply the vehicle but are the closest dealership. They have had a quick look, nothing obvious. They are being really helpful and have agreed to look at it today.
I will post what happens next.
They think it might be some piece of fabric caught blocking the sensors. The mattress has a single duvet cover on it and we have a Brandrup iso-top attached.
If this is the case we will have to pay because it will be classed as our fault!
I have a duvet cover on my mattress and the Isotop. It can't be that. Also the pistons and other mechanisms are outside of the pop up tent.
have you tried very gently to push the roof up a little, just a little nudge ? i mean sitting on the front seat, hatch cover open and try to very gently push it up while at the same time pressing to open it in the control panel ?

That sounds reassuring that it’s not my fault! Before taking it to the garage I did try pushing it up.
Thank you for the suggestion. It’s at the dealership at the moment so I will have to wait and see.

Still at the dealership. Nothing jammed. As you all suggested. Appears to be electrical faults. I didn’t mention that the fridge symbol had a warning triangle showing.
Hopefully it will be sorted soon!

If removing the fuses for a reset does not work (which does provide a solution for many/ there could certainly be something completely different going on) you can pull out the blue plug and then push it back (located in the fuse box next to the steering wheel). He's not that easy to reach, though but it's worth the try.
Success!

Hi - We had exactly the same problem and tried all the normal fixes (remove fuses etc). Just been fixed under warranty by replacing the control panel - all working fine now.
Might be worth telling your dealership that. We used Citygate Wooburn Green if they need to talk.

Cheers,
Mike

It's highly unlikely that your dealership fixed a "roof jammed error" solely by replacing the control panel. I've no doubt they've fixed it but have probably not been 100% candid with you.

A couple of ideas after looking at this post :

Have you tried to raise the roof with the engine running?

Try removing fuses 5,6,7 and 8 from the fuse box below/to the right of the steering wheel. Wait a few seconds then replace them all. Then try the roof again. Apparently, removing the fuses reboots the control panel.

Either suggestion may not work but worth a try.
I was told to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. I left for half an hour and it worked after that. Same as removing the fuses I suppose

The control panel on my 2022 california got wet as a result of the leaking roof belows issue . When water got in the control panel was doing all sorts of things such as not letting me put the roof down , not letting the aux heater work, and various other issues .
Once it had dried out it recoverd
Did you by any chance close the roof when the belows were wet? If so it may be water in the control panel as was mine. Good luck with getting a fix

It’s fixed! The technician found that a few different inexplicable faults were showing up, the control unit ceased to function at all. He went home and had a brainwave so went in on the Saturday. He checked the wiring under the passenger seat and there was a disconnected wire that hadn’t been properly attached at the factory.
I’m not sure which wire, he said it wasn’t usually accessible. Well done Listers Van Centre Coventry.
Thank you everyone who made suggestions and I hope this thread helps someone else in the future.

Glad it's sorted - I had the same error the other day - but it cleared after turning the ignition off and on again - will keep this post in mind if it happens the next time we go to pop the roof up.
