Hello - my pop up roof is coming away from its fixing at the front.

Please can anyone recommend me which van centres might be able to fix this kind of issue. It would be a warranty repair.

I'm Spending hours on phone but gettting no-where with VW as on hold endlessly or alternatively not being called back. I don't even know if I am calling the right place! thanks. Any recomendation of a van centre that answers the phone promptly etc would be most appreicated. thanks ever so much

Take some photos and post here and to your commercial vw dealer, SMC and Breeze are very goid but far from you.

We had exactly the same issue. It was fixed by Breeze nr Portsmouth under warranty whilst in for the first service. They kept her in overnight to allow the adhesive to cure. It's been a few months and so far so good.

Mine was fixed at the Manchester van centre. They should be doing a recall from the number of Vans it’s happening to.

Mine has started to part at the top gasket, front corners with the roof. So it’ll be a trip to Breeze to help me out , under warranty
I wondered why the fabric was sagging like a pair of old pants.
The roof has only been up about 20 times so a bit annoying but easily fixed I hope.

We had the same problem with our 6.1 and at the same place as Broadstone Bob (near side front corner). Pulman Van Centre Durham fixed under warranty but it took two tries and the second one followed advice from the tech department and VW sending a specific adhesive the second time. All good now.

Exactly the same happened to us in some very hot weather. When I put the roof up the rubber seal struggled to part itself from the van body. It was a replacement set of bellows and rubber seal fitted when the roof works were done in Bristol when the van was about 4 years old.
I hadn’t realised adhesive was used - I just carefully and firmly pushed it back, having cleaned the various contact surfaces well.
That was 9 years ago - has not been a problem since.
I do wipe silicone over the rubber seal every year when I clean out the drains etc.

There's a technical bulletin surrounding this and it's an easy fix. Even our local VWCV centre managed to get this right.

Glue with a special adhesive silicone, leave overnight. Return to customer!!

Half open the roof, go upstairs and push it out and up from the inside. Did 2 of my corners and they're still in months later. Much less hassle than dealing with dealers.
