Can anyone recommend a projector that can be used in the Cali - so needs to run on 12 volt or rechargeable battery pack. Cheers all

John

That's a coincidence!
Chili from Taiwan just posted a new YouTube video on his projector setup, looks good -
It's an Asus projector with keystone correction in both directions, think it's the S1 model, with a home made screen for the front bellows.

He's got everything sorted has Chili, i want to go camping with him but I'm struggling
to find a ferry that goes to Taiwan :)
I bet he doesn't p1ss in a lenor bottle stood between the front seats.

I have a nebula capsule, basically a 4 hour battery life, built in android media system and hdmi ports. Will run off usb cable too.

Thanks all - they look good.
I’ve gone for the Apeman.
Any recommendations on a screen to hang from the raised roof?

Cheers
John

Some just use the window blinds over the door/counter. Might be worth a go before buying?

I use the window blind, its slightly metallic so does diminish the picture quality slightly but is more than good enough and perfectively sized when placed on the table.

A proper high gain screen will really help but to be honest anything white will too.

Another window blind user

Good to those who what a projector in a campervan but personally I can not think of anything worse that such in a van. We go away to get away from some of the trappings of modern life. Yes, we take a 15inch DVD player to watch the odd film if very bad weather or dark evenings.

We just use an iPad loaded with some documentaries and with WiFi capability. When abroad we rarely have any time or inclination to watch anything.

@MattBW
Do you use the built in software and use apps like Netflix, iPlayer etc to play media? My issue with that is flakey campsite WiFi.
Or do you play media from your phone or tablet and connect it to the Nebula?

I dont have a Nebula but do have a projector with HDMI and USB inputs. USB powers a Firestick with no problems. I have an unlimited data contract with VF which allows my phone to be used as a wifi hotspot for the Firestick. This arrangement does require the projector an phone to be connected to power when in use but I've not found that to be a problem.

It has an HDMI input for any kind of device you want, has space to download a few films onto it if you want or you can also use a usb storage with movies on. It also can mirror phones etc, but apple restrict airplaying video content from apple sadly but may work with other apps.

That looks awesome. How dark does the van need to be to get a good picture on the blind?

Yep, Taiwan looks stunning...

I'm so glad to know you like my video. My projector is Asus zenbeam s2, not s1. It has 500 lumens light output and 2D Keystone with Corner Correction. I used a Bose revolve plus speaker as audio output to make the sound more vivid.

Ha ha! Welcome to Taiwan. There is a direct flight to Taiwan. A ferry takes too long.
I hope in the near feature I can visit UK again and have a RV trip.

They are only 100 lumens so you do need a dark van for a decent picture (or just use it close up and a very small screen to increase brightness). A proper screen helps heaps too.

Will it run Netflix / amazon / iplayer off the internal apps?
