Hi, sometimes when I’m camping and not connected to an external power source, the display shows a remaining battery time of, for example, 42 hours. However, as soon as I plug in the fridge to 12V or even just a phone into USB, the remaining time on the display suddenly drops to just a few hours or even minutes (e.g., 50 minutes until the battery is empty). At the same time, the current draw shows only around -3A. I know for a fact that this reading is not accurate and that the battery lasts much longer. Is this behavior normal? Thanks.

Hi - this is covered in quite a few threads so search in the top right is your friend. The battery display is a "live" reading at the point of time the draw is being used . So when you plug something in, switch on the fridge or use the heating, the amps being used go up and the display will give you a hours remaining assuming that you will continue to use that draw on the batteries. As soon as the fridge gets to working temperature, you unplug or the heating goes off, the draw reduces and it recalibrates again.

It's all normal and you will get used to it.

Actually it is the time after wich the battery capacity will be at 50% if you keep it discharching with the current shown.
