I had a whole bunch of abs/ tyre warning etc light appear and carista reported rear right abs sensor faulty. I replaced it with a vw oem WHT003856C. It is the same as the original part number except it has a c on the end. The old one had no revision letter. I thought this was just a revision number so would be fine. Now I am getting carista code C101D4A Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor - Incorrect Component Installed

Would replacing the nearside with the rev c one help
(i have it but haven't put it on yet. I only have street parking so its quite difficult so stopped after the side with the code hoping it would be sorted.

Any help very much appreciated.

Wht003856 is valid from 01/06/21 onwards, the part number with a C suffix isnt listed as compatible

Weirdly enough, I've just had the exact same thing happen on my 2016 Beach. Replaced the faulty sensor with and admittedly very cheap version (£10 ebay!), and all the codes have gone except the "Incorrect component" one :-(

And didn't know whether it was down to some VW income component protection system, or just a cheap nasty sensor.

Anyone know which brands trigger this "Incorrect component" warning, and which don't?
Thanks!

I’ve replaced a couple of those albeit on a T5.1 and always used somewhere like Eurocarparts or Autodoc which seem pretty good at identifying the right parts based on your reg and whilst more expensive than eBay still a lot cheaper than VW even for Bosch or similar parts

I fitted replacement Sensors all round on my 17MY 4Motion

Bosch parts 0 986 594 504 and 0 986 594 505

I had a similar issue when replacing ABS sensors on my wife's Golf.

The sensors differ when the vehicles have/ don't have adaptive cruise control. You need the (usually dearer) correct ones even though they can look similar at first.

I've used both Ridex and Febi Bilstein bought through Autodoc, all good.
