Hello. Has anyone recently had to replace the rubber grommet that holds the support bar in place when lifting the rear shelf/bed to access the boot space? I've done this twice as I fortunately had a spares available that I paid about £4 each for from a VW dealer some time ago. I wanted to get another one or two as spares but now learnt that the price for these has gone up to over £15! LLL Parts have them for about £6 each plus £6 postage - still quite a lot for just a plain rubber grommet. Has anyone found an alternative grommet of similar size that they have fitted instead as an alternative?

Remove it, measure the dimensions, search tinternet.

R/S components is a good starting point as they will have dimensional drawings on their website and they have branches where you can go the to physically compare the part before purchase

See below (random part) Example of the Technical drawing for one of the products, the staff are really helpful in store and should be able to measure the part if you don't have the tools.

Thanks Perfectos. Very helpful. I've taken measurements from the broken half that was on the supporting rod but may have to get the working one out again to check the plate thickness and overall depth. I will then contact RS
