I decided to bite the bullet and have auxiliary heating fitted to our Beach.
I wanted it to look as stock as possible so utilised the OEM B pillar vent for circulation and a replacement OEM drivers door step for the input.

I used the Planar 2kw unit (really nice Russian quality - and you know how cold it gets out there!) supplied and fitted with a digital thermostat / controller for £835 - this includes a 2 year parts and labour guarantee. Planar Pete is a master technician and his attention to detail is second to none.

Hi GavinskiI, I'm having a Planar heater fitted by Pete in March and can't make my mind up on OEM fit. Would it be possible to make contact to ask your opinion and discuss the do's & dont's regards Lee

Looks like a great option, we will definitely do this ourselves at some point.

Presumably the OEM vents were an additional cost over the price you quote above?

I'm still torn between a seat base outlet with the slide pods style blanking panel and the B Pillar OEM look (still don't know whether factory heater installs involve strengthening the B-Pillar, I suspect not but would like to know!).

We take the kids to a cycling club on Thorney Island every Saturday and I always regret not having a heater to keep us warm while we wait for them in the van :)

When I was fitting my Webasto the OEM vents were another £300-400 and involved cutting, I went with seat base. I liked @WelshGas idea in the other thread about a second vent on the side of the seat base to direct up into the roof.

£835 seems very cheap. i was quoted nearer £1200 with oem vents but maybe priced to fit in shropshire and travelling time

Was yours fitted under the vehicle or internally under R hand from seat?

I think i payed about £1100 for a Webasto (under the van) and that was a good few years ago now.
