Did a forum search and couldn't find anything on this....

Our T5 Cali has original halogen bulbs in the habitation light fittings. In our last Cali I swapped these for G4 LED and they worked well. We're looking at Phillips Hue for home, and then though it would be good to have dimmable bulbs in the Cali. I think its too complicated (unnecessary) to try and replicate the Hue setup, but it got me thinking.

I found these online and have ordered one as a trial. Not the cheapest at £7.99 each though but good if they work!

Dimming G4 bulbs

From the website blurb: Each bulb alows an equivalent halogen output of 20W, 10W or 5W in a single LED unit. First switch on illuminates the 9-LEDs, after turning off and on 6-LEDs are lit then turning off and on again illuminates just 3-LEDs. If left off for approximately 3 seconds, the light will revert back to 9-LED output. Even on full output, only 2.1W is used. (Accordng to Google, only 0.17A)
Diameter - 30mm (hope it fits)
Approximate light output - 9-LED 210lm, 6-LED 120lm, 3-LED 60lm
Power consumption - 9-LED 2.1W, 6-LED 1.3W, 3-LED 0.7W
Not polarity sensitive
3 year guarantee

Will report back when it arrives!!

I also have the original halogen fitted, never wanted to change to
white led´s.
One night we were p1ssed of with the lights being too bright and at eye level
so we stuck some orange mesh over them, it works a treat, cost nothing and
gives a bit of an orange vibe.

Hmm, going for warm white so similar 'colour'. Reminds me a little of sticky flypaper :)
