Details should be Handbook, but previous models it was 50kgms.Hi,
If I have a roofbox, should I unload it first before putting the popup up? Or, is there a weight limit for the popup which means some stuff could be kept in the roofbox?
Thanks
Handbook from T5.1 onwards says 50KG roof down, zero with roof up. Early vans were 100kg down 50KG Up, given the problems some have with sagging roofs & the fact that VW have downrated the load over time, I wouldn't be keen to put anything more than an empty roof box on in the raised position.Details should be Handbook, but previous models it was 50kgms.
Is that the transporter manual or the California supplement? & what year is the manual?View attachment 139057No mention of the weight when up. But I would want as little as possible

I found that 20 Kg was the limit for my roof (Beach). The roof was sagging with anything more.
So I either empty the box or remove it.
I am sure the electric roof could hold more. Not sure if the manual gives loads for manual / electric
