Safelock

Working my way through the manual I came across the 'safelock' instructions but not sure I fully understand. I assumed that simply locking the vehicle (to leave it) using the remote key fob activated the anti-theft alarm system but it seems that if you also put the key in and turn it - safe lock is activated. I'm sure I'm not reading this correctly and to save brain power a quick answer would be much appreciated.?

Apparently is a warning message to make sure you do not lock any one inside.
Locking with one press of the fob will activate the deadlocks, meaning that the inside door handles are disabled & exit from inside is impossible without the fob. If a thief brakes window & gets in he can not exit through a door making life a tad harder for him !!

Many thanks - sometimes manuals can be confusing. I guess I read it as the optional safe lock method using the key.
