Hi, with the Cali arriving later this month thoughts are turning to outfitting it and with respect to the time of year one of the items high on our list is a Screen cover for the front door windows and windshield. It’ll be used as a frost guard in winter and sunshield in the summer and we would like to get the right mixture of functionality and portability. The choice as I see it are between three covers and I’d like advice and any user feedback please to help get to the best choice.

At the lower end of the market the Just Campers cover at £50 looks serviceable enough and seems to pack down nice and small but I’ve come across a few lukewarm comments on the forum.

Comfortz Liesure do a version that s not “thermal” but seems to pack relatively small. We took advantage of a recent offer for a topper and mattress and the company seem good to deal with and inspire confidence. If the lack of “thermal’ properties was not so important then that would be my preferred choice and at £66, before forum discount, is a good price. However it is not silver, black or gray being the colour choices, and not thermal.

The last choice is by far the more expensive and looking at their instructional video seems also to be the most bulky. However Taylormade’s cover does seem to get a good press, at least on this forum, and the big question would be is the more than double the cost of the Taylormade cover worth it over the Comfortz version?

I’d “prefer to buy wisely and buy once” as the saying goes but not if the benefit was not substantially more or worth the £130 vs £66 (pre discount) cost difference.

Advice please.

No I had not discounted it but it seemed similar, thought with a fold down section, to the Taylormade cover and was seeking to give an example of the cheap, the middle and the upper end of covers. What is interesting about it is the size of the packed cover which is pictured http://www.comfortzleisure.co.uk/#/t5-t ... 4577806391 sitting onto of the glass worktop and it seems fairly large when packed. I suppose what I really want to know is if the thermal properties which seem to add bulk and cost are actually worth it.

I have got the JK version and been perfectly happy with it :D The main windscreen cover section is attached to the 2 side window sections with full length Velcro strips so you would be able to fold down half the windscreen section if you wanted to.

I've thick and thin versions for my T4. In my opinion, the degree of insulation they offer depends more on the 'fit' than the thickness. When fitted, if you can see any light escaping then it is not doing the insulation job properly. As none of them fit perfectly, I'd go for the thin easy pack version as space is always at a premium.

We have the Comfortz thermal one and found it to be excellent.
It will squash down more than in the picture as it tends to "loft" when left alone.

Hi Andy, "the proofs in the pudding", as the saying goes, if you take the plunge on one of our thermal windscreen covers and your not satisfied I'll give you a full refund :thumb

I have used "Silverscreens" from cleakheaton, yorkshire, for my 3 T4's and now my cali. Have just bought a new one as old one after 7 yrs. was wearing out
