I had a new regulator fitted by SMG a few months back. In October we camped and I ended up having a few other campers help me to turn the big black plastic disc top to get it open. I was very careful when closing it. We went out for lunch in the Cali today and once again it wouldn't open. I ended up using a small portable cooker but would like to solve it.

Anyone else had this problem and what was the solution?
Thanks Zebedee

Take care your pressure regulator is pushed well down, even sloping a littlebit downward before you close the lid. That always does the trick for us. If it is too high, turn the screw loose, point the regulater down, and refasten the screw. Then the lid will fit without a problem.

Never had a problem with the lid, I keep the regulator pointing down a little as mentioned above, lid has a soft seal so only needs a little pressure to close.

Solved the problem by fitting the Calor Campingaz valve in place of the VW offering of seperate tap and valve.
