Sea View Campsites

When we go away camping we like a campsite with a nice view, especially a sea view so I thought it would be good if people can recommend some really good campsites with uninterrupted sea views in the UK.

I will start with a few to get the ball rolling :

Durdle Door Campsite - Dorset high up on the cliff with spectacular views but can be very windy, steps leading down to beach http://www.lulworth.com/holiday/holiday_park.htm

Golden Cap Campsite Dorset - Limited sea view pitches but well worth having, also a really nice pub on the seafront which is just a 5 min walk away http://www.wdlh.co.uk/Parks/Golden-Cap.aspx

Fishery Creek - Hampshire situated on Hayling Island with views over the harbour, also has its own slipway for launching your boat http://www.fisherycreekpark.co.uk/

I would thoroughly recommend the book "sea view camping" which I bought from campervantastic.

We used it for a week away in a hired Cali back in may in Cornwall and couldn't fault any of the 4 x sites with sea views we visited over the course of a week.

For us, without doubt though, the best site we visited, and have visited for a long while, was Bay View Farm campsite just outside Looe. If you do visit, make a point of trying to get one of only two pitches at the bottom of the site, its not an obvious pitch but is pretty well sheltered, exclusive and with idylic views across the bay to looe. When you enter the site, follow the track round the edge of the paddock down hill and you'll find it.

I also bought the book "secret beaches" so we often try and combine sea view campsites in locations where we can walk to the secret beaches.

Well worth the money Brian, we have found quite a few sites we did not even know existed, wish I had purchased it at the beginning of the year now .. Cheers
