Anyone got any tips for selling a private plate.
Apart from an add in the telegraph.

Do the internet sites actually cash you up beforehand or must you wait until
it´s sold ?

I doubt you'll get many internet sites paying for your plate upfront unless is a very good plate at a knock down price.

My dad sold SLK 230 about 3 years ago, it took him about a year to sell.

Many years ago I sold my number plate through Registration Transfers - I got more for the plate than I did selling the Mini for scrap!

That plate would be illegal on the road. It can only be PBV 1P as you cannot move the space to suit personal choice.
Police are cracking down on it as NPR cameras can't identify the number correctly.

It´s a plate on a 60 year old car that i have.
It´s transferable so i´m gonna try and get a few quid for it.

Not quite - according to the poster anyone who buys a private plate is an idiot. My father inherited the plate 1 BAR from my grandfather so if he still had the plate would be exempt from charges of alleged idiocy.
