I recently noticed that the microswitch for the light on the rear wardrobe has a really sharp edge. The dealer says this is normal but it would be easy to cut yourself or rip a down jacket pulling it in and out of the door.

Any ideas? Seems a poor design if it is.

we catch stuff on it all the time. bent it backwards once and couldn't understand why the light was staying on.

yep, not great design

I thought it was just our van, and that were missing a cover over it!

I put a small piece of duct tape over the sharp bit, loose enough for the spring switch to still work. Needs to be changed from time to time. Stops the problem for us.

and I thought only I had to pull the whole mechanism forward each time before closing the door to ensure that the light switches off. Did not bother to check ... but always have wanted to change that funny switch to something that works each time.

Yes had the same issue. Duck tape and an20241118_112054.jpg old plastic pot cut down sorted us out.

I've had the same problem. Had it changed under warranty once, but no better. Then the little bit that sticks out broke off, but the switch still works fine, so not sure what it actually did!

While a pain, I find the problem rarely surfaces if the sliding part of the wardrobe is at least partially open. The issue seems to be when trying to extract things through the narrower aperture presented when the sliding door is shut and the swing door is open.
