The hinged tap has become detached and I can't work out how to fit it back on. Any ideas please ? We had some dirty dishes in the sink (!) and I think they've somehow dislodged the tap.

It should just push back on, gotta be firm with it.

Hi Bernd, that's what I thought initially but it doesn't clip back in and there's no sign of anything broken. Don't know if there's a rubber seal missing ?? Has anyone else had this problem ?

The sink tap is a ridiculous piece of design and one of the Cali's weak links.
You're quite right: it appears to clip back on but doesn't.
It is easily fixed however by using any of the modern plastic glues that give you 15 secs wiggle time before they harden up.
Apply to both surfaces then shove them together and leave. In cold weather this might mean 24 hours.
In summer continental weather about an hour.

I know of a half dozen instances of failure fixed by glue.

Good luck!

I had a problem with the tap on my t5 conversion it was a smev tap that froze and popped the spout out
That did have an o ring and pushed straight back in a lesson learned drain down in severe weather.
Can't comment on the Cali tap as mine's fine.

Thanks all. I think I'll take Barry's advice and use some superglue. Cheers.

Hi Ewan - ours came off and Preston Van Centre - suppliers of the van to us new - replaced under warranty without quibble.

Thanks Ian. On reflection I took your advice and Edinburgh Van Centre replaced the tap just as you described without quibble. Good service.

Hi I don't know if this is a tap issue or a pump issue but would appreciate advice. I picked up my new Cali 180 DSG last week. We put several litres-20 water into the fresh water tank but nothings comes out of the tap. We were staying in Sussex over the week end and here was no frost and no water. I have put the tap in a raised position as per he instruction booklet, and nothing. The on/off lever gives a click as moved up and down but there is no sign of water or of any pump action. have other buyers had his problem immediately on delivery of a new Cali?

Hi Isa. It sounds like you may have a problem there I have just filled mine up after emptying it for the winter
It worked straight away. I'm no expert on this but it could be the fuse. Most of the fuses for the camping equipment
Are under the passenger seat try looking there. If not take it back to the dealer to get sorted.
Good luck keep us updated.
Kev

Hi all fixed now, didn't go back to dealer in Cardiff as too far, SMG in Horsham very kindly took it apart, and after a few hours fixed the fuse and when they turned on the tap water ended up all over the floor as the connections in the water piping were faulty. They kindly fixed all that and now I realise the fridge works properly too. Disappointing to have this problem on a complexly new vehicle. But delighted all fixed.

Not good that the plumbing was wrong, but good you've got it all fixed.

I have the same problem with push on tap popping off but reluctant to use superglue as surely that will stop it from rotating. Am I missing something or do others just accept that the tap will be fixed in one position?

My tap nozzle popping off was a regular nuisance.
It also dribbled a lot from the joint which was a bigger nuisance.
So I used a small amount of the old fashioned araldite + fixer (so there would be minimal contact with the running water, if any) and it's been absolutely fine for over a year.

It still rotates in the vertical plane OK.

the silver bit really needs a big push to get it to click back properly, much more than you can do with out bending the sink.

Once the tap is off you can use some real ignorance and hey presto it's back together properly - 15 min job.

Thanks all for your help, tap functioning well and still rotating after spot of acrylic glue.
Gordon

Hi all when my water spout came off I used a G clamp (quick grip type) over the end of the tap and lever - cramped up and it popped back on nicely. Very easy fix.
