Hoping to tap into someone's experience here.. Sliding door would jerk when closing to start with (when triggered by the keyfob), now it doesn't close from the keyfob, it will open & close from the cab button (which now flashes).

It will also open from the outside handle & from the inside handle. But refuses to close from either.

Is there any repairing of the seal sensor to be done, or is it a straight replace only fix?

VCDS flags up the following issues:
2 Faults Found:

02356-Data Transfer to Sliding Door
012-Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent
02366-Pinch Protection
011-Open Circuit

Best regards

Reading this, you'll need to analyse this carefully. Start with codes as an indicator. An issue somewhere else can throw up codes.

So what I would do:
Sliding door jerking - a slight jerk is ok. However, if jerking more than normal, time to change the cable. Change the cable and see if that sorts out he issue. In future, the best way to extend cable life is to dry lube it ever so often. Any dry PTFE based spray will work.

Door handles: if you have an air spray, get some strong air into the gap around where the moving mechanism is, then some contact cleaner spray, followed by some silicone spray. Keep the door switch off and then move the handle a few times to lubricate well.

See if the two above solves the issue.
