Sliding door won’t unlock to close

T6 Cali Ocean. When I pull the sliding door handle to release the latch which holds the door open, it doesn’t move the catch far enough to move it clear of the pin. I’ve resorted to moving the lever with my finger! I lifted the lower plastic cover off and can see a Bowden cable but it is located correctly and no adjustment that I can see. Has anyone experienced similar and what was the fix?

No but if I would use my warranty for repair.

VW tried replacing the cable which worked for a couple of days before misbehaving again, not unlatching from open position. Problem was solved by fitting a full replacement latch mechanism to the sliding door. Fortunately done under warranty and no problems since.
