Spain / Portugal campsites in January / February

Hi

I am hoping to take the campervan from Calais to Spain, then work my way round the coast to Portugal starting early January and probably being away about 3-4 months. How easy is it to find sites during that time in the areas I will be driving through? Does anyone have recommendations that have done the same thing at that time of year?

Ive travelled in Europe by CV before so have all the adaptors etc, would also sort out a tourist visa if staying longer than 3 months.

We travelled that route in June. Great trip.

You are restricted to 90 days in any180 as a Scottish citizen. There is no visa that will allow a longer stay that I know of.

I was in the south of Portugal last January. Was a particularly cold winter so glad for warm clothes.

Had no trouble finding a campsite, aire, place to park. Some Motorhome owners complained about the coast being ‘sold out’. A couple of times I had to stay in a dreary Lidl car park but otherwise no problem.
