I purchased a new 17” steel spare wheel and tyre as I have 18” and had no spare. I thought it would be a good idea to makes sure it fitted and it does, however there is very little clearance between the new 17” steel wheel and the calliper maybe only 3-4mm is this normal?

Pretty sure my 17” Devonports are the same. As long as there’s *some* clearance it should be fine.

Normal

The same with my 16".
The alloys with wheel weights are almost touching the callipers. It looks like there is hardly room for a sheet of paper between the wheel weights and the calliper.
This is normal, and no issue.

17" steel wheel fits all models.
Only the 16" steel/alloy won't fit vehicles with the big front disc brakes.

I was expecting slightly more clearance maybe 10mm.
having had a puncture on our previous cali on a Friday night in Wales and struggling to get a replacement I’m a lot happier.
Thanks everyone for your input
