I doubt it, but if nobody puts conventional signage in place, he won’t be last.

surprisingly very few get stuck like that, I have no statistics but I think the incidents are minimal.

When the NC 500 was firs promoted there were a lot of problems with very big motorhomes on most of the route as most of it is single track and the promoters actually issued an advisory that nothing bigger than a cmpervan, 6m length, should attempt it. I'n not sure of the exact route of the NC500 but I can think of many places, such as the lochinver road, where even the cali has seemed oversized, even on the drumbeat road, where I came to grief with two wrecked tyres, can be challenging. Jim, with his low loader from Ullapool garages, certainly had a great time getting Albert and myself back to Ullapool

I know, however there appear to be striking parallels between this issue and another on a separate thread you have contributed to.

Yes, lack of investment infrastructure is common to us both, be that roads, aires etc.
Being resilient and having a great employer, work colleagues, I have still thrived, as has our international business. Good non seasonal employment and good employers are hard to come by round here.
The California, common to use both has been part of the solution for sure in making the summer tourist influx and its challenges workable.
The pandemic promotion of more hybrid working also really helps.
