Sync Air Con to the Rear

We have a T6.1 and I know that if I press the SYNC button the aircon throughout the van is SYNCed based on the front driver's side. However when I press the SYNC button to turn this off the rear of the van ignores me. I can park, get in the back and turn the rear aircon off using the panel at the back. I really want to turn it off from the front whilst driving. I can turn all the aircon off but when I turn it back on the rear comes back on as well.

Am I doing something wrong? Do you think this could be a fault?

To turn off the rear I think you need to press rear then turn down fan until it displays “off”. The press auto to turn front on.

Also, check your plus and minus buttons isn’t stuck on the rear controller. If it is, the rear can switch itself on at full blast every time you start the car. It is a known fault

On my T6 I select rear then turn the centre rotary knob down, wait a second then turn it down again and then only after the second go does it actually switch off the rear entirely.
