T6.1 comfort mattress torn by bed raising strap

Hello,
Collected our first Cali this week (coast) and love it but on first use of raising the bed back rest, the strap ripped a small whole in the comfort mattress. The strap has an abrasive finish facing the mattress. Not sure if the strap’s been installed upside down?

Anyone else had this issue?

Your strap is the same as mine, so not a build issue. You might just be using it incorrectly. All you need to do is pull the strap horizontally towards you, against the black bearing, then raise the shelf using your other hand. That way the strap never goes anywhere near the mattress. Shame to create immediate wear and tear on a new van though.

Having said that, maybe you were raising the shelf from inside the van, in which case my method will not work!
