T7 lower bed is really smaller than the T5/T6?

Hi, I love my T5 California but ULEZ and other factors that I won’t bore you with means that I am thinking of getting new.

I thought my T5 lower bed was smaller enough so much so that the Wife sleeps downstairs and I sleep in the roof. The days of sleeping 2 just don’t work for the both of us anymore……
We are in our 70’s; I am sure there are a few out there that probably understand. .

So it looks like it’s 108 cm, is that correct?
Or in reality it’s even smaller?

If you are near a VW commercial site, I’d recommend going down to check out the t7.
You might be pleasantly surprised.
Or not.

Me and the wife were, and ordered a new t7 ocean.

If you both sleep separate, then it’s a no brainer.
Warranty, service, MOT, breakdown, all sorted for the next 5 years included.

It’s 8cm smaller than the 6.1, if that makes a big enough difference for you then it’s the wrong van. For us it makes no difference as it’s always 1 +dog downstairs and 1 upstairs so plenty big enough.

One other question - the rear bed part is that right that it can lift up but not be removed?

On the T7 it can be removed much easier than on the t6.1 it’s very simple. It can be lifted up but not held in the up position as it is not on a racket system. It can be lifted from the door end or from the eldest end which for us is another improvement to access items from inside the vehicle.
