Not really a review because we haven't stayed there recently, but we passed it on our bikes the other day which reminded me of it.
If you like peace and beautiful scenery it's in a fantastic location right next to the river just off the A470 a couple of miles outside Betws-y-Coed going towards Blaenau Ffestiniog. There is a footpath going to Betws one way, and going the other way there is the train station at Pont-y-Pant; so you could walk there and get the train to Betws, get some chips 'n fish and a pint or three then get the train back.
If you're really fit you could walk or cycle all the way along the Crimea Pass to Ffestiniog and beyond .... and get the train back (although it's downhill coming back anyway, so maybe get the train out instead ).
I can't remember what the facilities are like, I would imagine they are pretty basic but who cares with this scenery!
