Temporary insurance for a 2nd Cali whilst I sell it

Evening folks,
I have bought a new (to me) Cali and insured it with Axa through the Caravan Club (CC). It was a straight transfer of the policy with my old Cali which I must now sell and also insure whilst I sell it. The Axa policy is only for single vehicles (not multiples) and they will not allow me to pay for a 2nd policy except for a few weeks grace. The CC advised that I could take out a "pay-as-you-go" insurance policy on the old Cali until it is sold. Does anyone have experience or advice on this?

I don't know about vehicles but we just did a 'pay as you go' insurance on a house and it cost a ridiculous amount!

Think all insurance companies have to offer a 14 day cooling off period.

That should get you some short term insurance, obviously check for cancellation fees etc.

I've twice had 2 policies run side by side with the (I'm pretty certain) Camping and Caravanning Club, when I've been running (choosing between) 2 Cali's. As they didn't draw upon my no claims, they were happy to do so.
When one Cali was sold I just cancelled the appropriate one and got my pro-rata premium returned (from memory to the nearest full month). On one occasion I was charged an admin fee (of £25). On the other, they waived the admin fee as "I had another policy with them".
Probably cheaper than specialist insurance cover, and you benefit from being able to take your time on selling your old one (although peak demand will soon be over).

Buy annual cover via Comparethemarket or similar - pay on the credit card so when you cancel you dont get hit for short term charges. I would use my no claims bonus too and see if they accept it
