The UK in summer.

Sounds like you will have planned it perfectly !
There are some differences (when school terms start & finish) between different county’s in England, Wales and Scotland.
I think you’ll fine.
If you can’t find a spot.
Use Park for a night and find a suitable location.
Enjoy, that’s a lot of area to travel!
How long for ? 6 weeks ?
We have planned 3.5 weeks. :Nailbiting 6 weeks would have been better but work doesn't allow it. We don't want to go all 'American' and try to 'Do Europe in 3 days' but we have never really been to the UK (other then 2 visits to the New Forest and a wedding in London) so we're thinking we'll just see what happens. And see what we can in 3.5 weeks. We don't fear missing out on any famous places. We're planning on not doing the NC500 Fort Willam - Inverness route because it may be packed with tourists. We tend to never stay in one spot for long. Usually a maximum stay of 2 nights in one place.

We're going in without much planning and will try to enjoy that instead of wonder if we're not missing places/sights.

Snow roads from Perthshire to tomintoul through cairngorms is great I do that run loads visiting family (not to busy).
Braemar campsite does service stops and there’s an informal site at tomintoul (local bowling green carpark) has toilet bins, electric hook up and think it’s still cheap.
Plenty of parkup spots too.
Its part of NE250 a guy in ballindalloch set it up to rival the nc500IMG_4320.png
