Towing Controller - No Brake Lights

Hi, just replaced a failed towing controller and now the trailer indicators come on instead of the brake lights …they’re lighting solid as if they were the brake lights. Tried two different trailers and same problem.

Everything else works perfectly and I can’t see anything in OBD about programming of the light configuration on either the towing controller or main electrics controller.

Any ideas ? Can’t see any damage to the socket or wiring…will test electrical output later today.

I had a similar issue a few years ago with the rear lighting on a caravan. It was due to water ingress in the light housing having caused corrosion on one of the lamp holders. Cured with contact cleaner and emery paper. Not quite the same issue but I hope it helps.

OK, found a short between earth and right tail light. Seems odd that effects the brake light and then powers both indicators ?

OK, turns out it’s a coding issue. Looks like the unit has the wrong country code. Appreciate if anyone knows the security access code for long coding …20103 doesn’t work

FIXED: was simply set with wrong country code. Changed using OBDEleven
