Unknown switch- any ideas?

Just bought a 2013 Beach. This switch is on the lower part of the door pillar behind the driver seat. Does anyone know what it is for? Probably was told when I got the van but can’t remember.

Isolates the internal alarm sensors. Open drivers door only,press it and it lights orange. Shut door and lock van. No internal alarm will go off. Handy for towing,pets,ferries etc

Flying banana, many thanks. That is useful. I’ve found the VW manuals aren’t that great. The controls shown don’t match mine.
