USB-C ports in T6.1 not charging like they should

Cancel that - just tried the 'el cheapo' cable I bought for 6 quid and it charges even with ignition off. The more expensive cable for 25 quid does nothing!! How bizarre is that!

Could it be that the cheaper cable has no data capability and therefore can only charge, whereas the more expensive one is set for data only somehow as per above posts?

I've noticed my data enabled USB cable charges very slowly, if at all, but have not investigated yet as since a recent VW update I have been able to use Android Auto wirelessly (prior to update it would connect via AA briefly and then disconnect until plugged in) - not had it plugged in at all since then.

No - it appears to be charging quickly and has data transfer but as you said no need for that as Android Auto now wireless - bizarre really
