Looking at a used T6.1, it’s been on Long Life Servicing, registered July 2023

Serviced November 2024 @19k miles

It’s within VW ‘spec’ but would it put you off buying?

No. Mine was on long life servicing and no problems, AND it was the dreaded 180 Biturbo and still not using oil between services after 135,000 miles.
Personally, I think low milage and 2 yearly services are more problematic.

serviced 16-17 months after first registered, is not far off 12 months.
it's been used, so not stood still if covered 19,000m at first service.
is it covered by extended warranty still?
where was it first registered?
go with your gut feel and good luck

It’s still under warranty yes, until July 2026.

First registered in here in UK.

Seems good to me, it has a service pack included, if it was me might have asked VW to get it done at 10,000 miles.

Absolutely shouldn’t put you off! Much more problematic if it’s done low mileage but short journeys. Also it’s an adapting interval so above would tell me it hasn’t been used for short journeys otherwise would have needed a service earlier.
I’d think more about whether it’s a standard FWD 150BHP or the more complicated BITDIs and 4-motion, if you are wanting to keep it out of warranty.

Thanks

It’s 150 single turbo :)

Sold my old T5.1 140bhp at 80,000 miles, zero problems and plenty fast enough for me

Where in the uk was the previous owner?
If by the sea, salt air is corrosive, (likewise Scotland and road salt) if central london that could be a hard 19,000 miles for example.

No. It’s a commercial vehicle.

+ Oil technology has come on a long way & changing your oil a year early is not great for the environment, as ‘recycling’ uses a lot of energy.

If the discs have surface rust, just take it for a few runs down ditching beacon!

I’d say a complete non-issue. Modern engines are robust. Oils are better.

What’s 6 months over 19k miles.

Go for it.
