Used vs manufacturers warranty

I am about to buy a 2023 T6.1 Ocean with another 6 months on manufacturs warranty. I would appreciate some guidance on this

1. Does the used car warranty start after the end of the manufacturer's warranty, they seem to want it concurrent for the 6 months?
2. The used warranty does not appear to be a warranty at all, more akin to an insurance policy?
3. They are unable to produce me a list of parts covered in manufacturers vs used, why?
4. There are caveats e.g. modifications to the vehicle invalidate used warranty!
5. You have to have an inspection report which they then determine whether it is under warranty, if not you have to pay for this, usually about £150. This seems grossly unfair?
6. Which leads me to the question are they worth it?

That seems like an awful lot of very unfair conditions for what is actually their warranty, not yours and if they have questions regarding the vehicle then they should be identifying and answering these prior to sale. If they are talking about the inspection report if you report a fault then again, id say not standard practise.

It running concurrently is pretty standard, however not being able to supply what is actually covered is not.

As asked already, is this from VW or independent seller? If it was me id be walking away, unless it’s a very good price. Saying that you do have the last few months of VW warranty.

This is standard practice with most Warranties, even the VW new car warranty, but they call it a Diagnostic Charge. If the fault is deemed a Warranty failure then no charge is made and the repair made.
If it is Not a Warranty Claim and you elect to do the repair elsewhere then you are charged. If you decide to have the repair done by the garage then the Diagnostic/Inspection charge is part of the repair cost and may or may not be charged separately.
Standard practice in my experience.. After all the garage has spent time and money diagnosing the actual fault .

If I understand correctly you still have 6 months left of the VW manufacturers warranty which is 3 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, and the dealer wants to sell you a third party used car warranty to run concurrently for the remaining 6 months.
That is shocking.
VW do an All in Plan for vehicles 3 to 6 years old. It runs for 2 years and you get 2 services, 2 years warranty, 2 Mot’s, and 2 years roadside assistance. The cover is cheap in the first place and several times a year, eg around Black Friday, is even cheaper.
If you had this plan to cover you from years 3 to 5, you could take it out again for years 5 to 7. There is no inspection involved if there is a VW service history.
Some people say there are exceptions to the warranty. Possibly so. All I can say is I recently had the bunk bed hinges and fridge catch replaced under the All-in with no quibbles.
Ask the dealer what he is playing at
