Just had my coolbox replaced last year under warranty/old one stopped working.
Last weekend prepared for going away and plugged into mains power as usual 36 hours about with coolbox plugged in after 24hrs.
Plugged into mains on two separate nights camp coolbox working fine, after five hours on leisure battery parking return to vehicle coolbox not working suspect cut out to save battery. Drove back to site (20mls) coolbox working okay.
Anyway this coolbox is working constantly and I am sure old coolbox used to cut in and out even on battery power and run off hookup for around 3 days. Being a Beach I only have One leisure battery.
Any suggestions appreciated..:thumb

If it's the VW official one then it's a thermocouple type box and the fan will run constantly. They can use a fair bit of juice so make sure you have battery protection switched on or they can pull the battery too low.

The compressor type boxes (waeco cf/cfx) click in and out and use a lot less juice but cost a lot more than the theromocouple type box.
